Camp BGen Pantaleon Garcia, City of Imus, Cavite—The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) has officially launched “Patrulyang Magilas,” a new initiative to reinforce police presence in strategic locations across the province. The program enhances law enforcement visibility and ensures rapid response to crime, promoting a safer community for Caviteños.
“Patrulyang Magilas” combines the words “Patrolya,” symbolizing police duty, and “Magilas,” which means quick, active, and ready to act. The name encapsulates the initiative’s primary objective of providing prompt and efficient law enforcement services.
The formal launch was marked by a send-off ceremony, where motorcycle patrollers were deployed to fixed visibility posts. These posts have been strategically placed in crime-prone areas and key convergence points to maintain a strong police presence and deter criminal activities.
A key contributor to the program’s success is former Governor and now Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG) Jonvic Remulla, who generously donated 200 NMAX motorcycles to the Cavite PPO.
“We are grateful for the support of SILG Remulla and remain committed to making Cavite a safer and more secure place for everyone,” said Acting Provincial Director, PCOL Dwight E. Alegre, who led the launch ceremony. He emphasized the importance of community cooperation and expressed optimism for the initiative’s success. “Together, let us build a Cavite where safety and security are not just aspirations but realities.”
Since its launch, “Patrulyang Magilas” has already demonstrated its effectiveness. Magilas Patrollers of the Mobile Patrol Unit (MPU) have responded promptly to various incidents, including a vehicular accident on January 25, 2025, along Manila-Cavite Road in Brgy. San Rafael IV, Noveleta, Cavite. Their swift intervention prevented further escalation and helped ease tensions between involved parties.
On January 29, 2025, Magilas Patrollers assisted in another vehicular accident in Sitio Gulugod Baboy, Brgy. Tibig, Silang, Cavite, showcasing their ability to provide immediate aid and ensure public safety. Additionally, on December 30, 2024, they successfully apprehended a suspect in a stabbing incident at Brgy. Panapaan 2, Bacoor City, Cavite, saving a victim’s life in the process.
With “PATRULYANG MAGILAS,” the Cavite PPO aims to foster trust and cooperation between the police and the public while supporting the province’s growing economy through enhanced security measures.
As the initiative continues to roll out, its full implementation is expected to bring even more positive outcomes in ensuring peace and order in Cavite. (LATIGO REPORTORIAL TEAM)
